Content
Introduction to the literary and ancient Arabic language, that of the Qur'an and of all the great texts of classical Arabic literature, based on original texts of classical Arabic literature. The course is given alternately with LGLOR1664. Students of two levels of Arabic follow it simultaneously (second and third years of Arabic), with different requirements: for level 1, it allows the consolidation of a first part of Arabic grammar; for level 2, it allows the acquisition of a more developed vocabulary, as well as the mastery of a second part of Arabic grammar, centred on more particular points. |
Teaching methods
Each session is based on the reading of texts that the students are required to prepare beforehand, as well as the required grammatical explanations. The course is also accompanied by the individual preparation of a cursive, of different difficulty depending on the level followed.
Evaluation methods
The final grade is awarded on the basis of the oral examination (covering the course material and the cursive) as well as on the basis of the students' active participation throughout the sessions.
