Content
This teaching is to make students aware of approaches such as Design Thinking, Lean startup and Effectuation. It also seeks the appropriation by the students of innovative design method such as TRIZ.
Concretely, it includes the following:
· Clarification of a request or an issue
· Finding solutions using methods promoting creativity
· Prototyping solutions
· Communication in the form of pitches

Teaching methods
This course consists of: two full days of kick-off to introduce students to innovative design, and a project spanning 10 weeks with weekly workshops from 6,15pm to 9,15pm every Monday.
Throughout their project students will be supervised by professionals in the domain of innovation.

Evaluation methods
Students' learning outcomes will be evaluated on the basis of the following elements:
- report and presentation/pitch of the stay abroad (20%);
- report and group presentation on the group project (60%), the form of the report is left free (written report, video, website, ...);
- active participation during activities, individual grade (20%)
- on the report and group presentation criteria (80%) and
- on individual participation (20%)
Other information
This teaching is part of the TIIC module of the International Lhoist Berghmans Innovation Chair and aims to develop innovative ways of thinking in an international context. It is open to EPL master students graduating that same year as well as to students from other faculties in order to constitute multidisciplinary teams. It is a prerequisite for students that have chosen a master thesis with the innovation label. Finally, exchange students are welcome.
