Main themes

Each year the course will select a particular theme, e.g. justification for democracy, sovereignity, citizenship, conflict, power, justice worldwide, social justice, climate justice, migrations, etc.. The course will always present different approaches to the chosen theme, compare and contrast them.
The course will pay special attention to the relationship between the chosen theme and a reflection on the goals and methods of political philosophy.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :
1	analyze and discuss in a well-informed manner based on his/her own thinking a selected question in the area of political philosophy
2	use the tools of political philosophy research;
3	conceptualise the selected question;
4	situate, if necessary, the responses to the selected question in the larger framework of the history of political philosophy and contemporary debates as regards different approaches and theories;
5	include in the philosophical discussion of the chosen question contributions from other disciplines pertinent to the analysis and discussion of the question;
6	develop a proposition and his/her own argumentation to the question;
7	submit the method of study chosen for the question to a critical reflection.
