Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :
1	The objective is to create a real course of economic analysis of the law in the field of intellectual property. That is why it is taught by an economist and a legal scholar, both specialised in intellectual property and used to inter-disciplinary dialogue between law and economics. The existence of this course and its content are justified by the conviction that the use of economic analysis is useful for the law student and the future lawyer because it enable him to understand the effect of intellectual property and the way economic actors use it. Economic analysis is equally useful the student-citizen as it helps him to develop a critical reflexion on intellectual property and the big debates it generates in society.

Prerequisite: the course is conceived in such a way that it does not require prior knowledge in economics nor in mathematics From a pedagogical point of view, the course include a balance between theoretical analysis and empirical date as well as between lecturing and involvement of students in cases studies. Teaching material and readings will be available on the university intranet (I-campus).
