Prerequisites
Have followed courses in relation to the archaeology of North-West Europe.
Main themes
In-depth and on-demand visits during max. a week-long trip in Belgium or abroad, or on- campus debate panels deal with current themes for all of the following periods: Prehistory, Protohistory, Gallo-Roman antiquity, the Early Middle Ages, the Middle Ages and the Modern Period.

1 | This seminar for archaeology students aims at deepening reflection and stimulate encounters on diachronic themes of Northern European archaeology, on sites, in museums and behind the scenes of various institutions, with field operators and experts in their fields. |
Content
Depending on the size of the group and the actuality of the research, the seminar will either be scientific excursions or trip, or on-campus debates sessions including diachronic and thematic approaches, or contributions to an archaeological exhibition. If organized, excursions or a scientific trip may include visits, lectures and meetings with experts in institutions and on sites chosen for their complementarity with the theoretical courses.
Teaching methods
Lectures and debate panels with preliminary readings; or: scientific excursions or a maximum one-week trip including visits and meetings prepared by readings and preparatory work; or: written and iconographic production of material for the setting up of an exhibition.
Evaluation methods
Depending on the program chosen: assessment of written reports on the on-campus debate sessions, or written essays and reports before and/or after the activities organized in Belgium or abroad, during the scientific excursions or trip, heuristic report, documentation and drafting in support of thematic mediation.

Dedicated Moodle space including documentary files and useful supports according to the activities organized.
