Content
The internship consists of a simulation of a professional situation in which the student has to participate in one the following organisations : an archeological excavation site ; one of the multiple museum/heritage sectors ; the various cultural enterprises or institutions in the art trade sector; scientific laboratories where technical conservation and restoration of cultural property is applied.
Accompanied by a UCLouvain internship coordinator, the student establishes a training agreement with a host institution working in the field of interest. The student performs the internship while being supervised by the tutor of the host institution.
For the archeology students, internships, the training period can last up to 25 working days depending on the selected activity.
The course is ended by the validation of 5 credits of duly justified activities.
A combination of the available activities is possible.
The student must achieve a cumulative working period of at least 10 days in an institution or on a site while having respected the conditions of the host institutions.
Art history students may select a practicum according to their interests.
They can either choose from a list of internship places or propose a new place of internship. The new place of internship must be approved by the UCLouvain representative.
The training period in history of art lasts a minimum of 10 working days.

Teaching methods
The people responsable for the UCL internship (archeology and art history) validate the student's internship project and accompany the establishment of the training agreement.
Evaluation methods
Half of the evaluation is based on the points given by the tutor of the host institution. The other half of the evaluation concerns the placement report written by the student.
