Learning outcomes
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |
By the end of this module the student will be able to express him/herself in English in the social and professional contexts in which he/she will work (the world of physical education and sport or of physiotherapy and rehabilitation). |

Content
The course aims at developing the communication techniques appropriate to professional life as well as improving command of the language (general and specific vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation).
Teaching methods
- Interactive communication through classroom activities.
- Exposure to a variety of real-life situations requiring specific language functions.
- Consolidation and improvement of grammar use, vocabulary accuracy as well as pronunciation.
- Regular feedback on the student's oral production.
Evaluation methods
Attendance at this language course is required, in accordance with article 72 of the General Regulation for Studies and Examinations, two unjustified absences may result in an invalidation of the marks taken into account in the final grade. The teacher may propose to the jury that a student who has two unjustified absences for the course be refused registration for the January, June or September session.
June session
Continuous evaluation is based on the following 5 activities (95%)
September session
The student who got less than 10/20 in June will only have to resit the activities he / she failed. The mark for active participation in class is not taken into account in September.
The evaluation modalities may be subject to change in accordance with the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic. The students will of course be notified of these possible changes in due course.
June session
Continuous evaluation is based on the following 5 activities (95%)
- written test on the most common grammar and vocabulary mistakes
- pronunciation test
- telephone conversation
- participation in a professional meeting
- physio / patient consultation (KINE) or coach / sportsperson interview (EDPH)
September session
