At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :
The main aim of this receptive course is to develop students' reading skills.

Reading comprehension At the end of the course, the students should be able to: grasp the content and significance of articles and reports on topics connected with their interests or their jobs. Level B1 of the « Common European Framework of References for Languages »

Content

Portfolio of authentic texts relating to Public Health (newspapers, magazines, encyclopedias, ...).

Teaching methods

Extensive reading of texts at home using reading strategies.
Content-based activities in class.
Analysis of and comments on the texts.
Lexical extension exercises and comments on language points.

This course is normally taught on site. ! The teaching modalities may be subject to change in accordance with the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic. The students will of course be notified of these possible changes in due course.

Evaluation methods

Exemption test (1st term) and Written Exam (June/September session):

vocabulary questions
grammar questions
reading comprehension activities on seen and/or unseen passages.
