  • Time, duration and durability as well as the implications in the process of design of these concepts which expose architecture to other dimensions than those related to space
  • The economic, ethical and ecological aspects involved in the concept of sustainable development, around themes of social equity, viability and the suitability of spaces, both already built on and for future building
  • The different implications of environmental concepts in the areas affected by architecture, town planning and regional development
  • On a more practical level, especially through discussion and commentary on site visits, the ways of starting a programme of architecture by taking into account the different component features of an environment
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 Specific learning outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will be able to
  • consider the impact of their choices in a  sustainable perspective durable, i.e. with the idea of passing on to future generations a world they can live in, both at an economic  and an environmental level, but most of all a human level.
  • make committed choices on the understanding that architecture is not only an art in space but an art in time.
