Main themes
To achieve its objectives, the course consists of:
- presenting a historical and doctrinal reinterpretation in Christology and soteriology;
- introduce to the current problems in these fields;
- initiate the practice of dogmatic theology.
This part of the course includes an introduction to the elaboration of a problem and a practical introduction to the bibliographic instruments; it leads the student to write a work which gives him/her the opportunity to put into practice the elements of this initiation and to develop an active relation with the material.

Content
The course analyzes Christology and soteriology from the point of view of the biblical theology, historical theology and systematic theology.
Evaluation methods
15-minute oral exam with 15 minutes of preparation.
There are two parts to the oral exam:
1/ A question from a restrictive list provided to students.
2/ An oral presentation of a written work that has been sent by email to the professor at least 48h before the exam date. This written work has been presented in class by the professor (see the document "exercise" in the online resources). On a theme chosen by the student in the subject of Christology and Soteriology, the work includes the following elements on one A4 sheet
(a) three to five terse propositions capturing the essential ideas of the study ;
b) a quotation from an author;
c) a bibliography of three to five titles (maximum).
