LGLOR1671/1672 and/or LGLOR1541, or knowledge of Sanskrit estimated sufficient by the teacher.
Main themes
Alternating with the course LGLOR2672, this course covers the following topics:

elements of historical and comparative grammar of the Indo-Aryan languages;

elements of typology of Indo-Aryan languages (from Old Indo-Aryan / Sanskrit to modern Indo-Aryan languages), in synchronic and diachronic perspectives.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |
1 | have an analytical understanding of the peculiarities of the Indo-Aryan languages from a historical-comparative and typological point of view; |
2 | understand the major developments in the history of the Indo-Aryan languages. |
