Prerequisites
This course addresses students with a good command of ancient Greek.
Main themes
The course includes the following topics:
- Introduction to codicology;
- Handwritten copy of ancient Greek texts and textual transmission issues;
- Ancient Greek writings;
- Practical training in reading ancient Greek manuscripts (reading exercices);

Content
The course is basically constant from year to year (main scriptures, reading exercices, etc.), but it may be more specifically devoted to a particular category of texts or to a particular type of writing.
Teaching methods
Lectures (theoretical presentations) are completed with practical exercises (reading and editing).
Evaluation methods
Oral exam will focus on: reading exercises, theoretical presentations, some articles to complete or clarify the theoretical data. Part of the exam may be replaced by a personal work, according to specific modalities to be decided with the students.
