Main themes
The course discusses specific issues and problems of interpretation related to the reconstruction of lifestyles and ways of thinking of the Ancient Near- and Middle-East societies (from the 9rd millennium BC to the end of the Neo-Babylonian Empire).

Advanced training for archaeologists specializing in Near- and Middle-East Archaeology. Develop critical thinking, analysis of material culture and human remains in order to understand the means of reconstruction methods of the periods before writing, including through theoretical and anthropological concepts in archaeological interpretation. |
Content
Various topics on the archaeology, art history and cultural heritage of the Ancient Near East are discussed each year.
Teaching methods
Group sessions with an active participation of the students.
Evaluation methods
Oral examination at the end of the session.
