Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Specific learning outcomes on completion of teaching unit
On completing this unit the student is able to:
·         Demonstrate knowledge of the major periods of Russian literary history, classical and contemporary, as well as of the major literary movements from the 19th century onwards;
·         Engage in sensitive criticism of a text, either seen during the course or previously unseen;
·         Present the key ideas of the philosophies of the authors studied in the language of study;
·         Produce a written or oral synthesis in the language of study of one or more works read outside class.
 
Content
Highlights of the lives and works of Russian classical and contemporary writers, as from the beginning of the 19th century till nowadays. Large literary trends of the XX° century. 
Teaching methods

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the information in this section is particularly likely to change.

Study of selected texts, followed by their literary and stylistic analysis. Basic lecture, practical works, group's work.
Evaluation methods

Oral examination at the end of Q1.
