Content
This workshop will focus on the translation of several texts belonging to various genres (mostly short stories and novels but also humanities and social sciences) . It will aim to stimulate reflection on the act of translation , in connection with the course LTRAD 2700 'Theory of Literary Translation . The importance of the historical and cultural context , the adequacy with the target culture, the registers of language , the translation of humor are some of the issues discussed at this workshop.

Each session will consist of a correction of a translation done at home by the students. Part of the lesson is also devoted to the preparation of the following homework.
