Without pretending to be exhaustive, the course focuses on the following issues:
1st Part: General psychology.
1. Definition, object, history, and methods of psychology;
2.Perception;
3. Memory and learning;
4. Motivation;
5. Emotions;
6. Personality;
7. Psychopathology.
2nd Part: Social psychology.
1. The relation to others: the social dimension of the individual;
2. The impression formation: a) social categorization, b) implicit theories of personality, c) social judgment;
3. Attributions of causality;
4. Social norms;
5. Compliance and submissiveness;
6. Resistance and innovation.
The traditional way of teaching may be complemented by other teaching methods according to the course needs.
The course material has to be provided to students in the beginning of the semester, at the latest the second year following the designation of the professor.

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |
1 | The goal of this course is to introduce the future lawyers to principal theories and methods of general psychology and social psychology, and more precisely to: 1. Introduce in a representative way the principal theories and methods in general psychology and social psychology; 2. Provide a framework of analysis for future readings in psychology; 3. Illustrate the pertinence of each set of psychological concepts for the work of lawyer in the variety of its dimensions (penal, family relations, work relations, ...). |
