- Oral presentations of scientific articles relating to the course LEPL1109 Statistics and data sciences

Teaching methods
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the information in this section is particularly likely to change.
- Speaking practice through discussions on topics chosen by students, and listening comprehension practice with videos shared by students in preparation of the discussions; stimulating informal learning.
- Speaking practice through debates on topics relating to engineering studies, and reading comprehension practice through the preparation work for these debates.
- Speaking practice through simulation exercices and role plays such as meetings, negotiations, technical explanations, etc.
- Analyzing the structure and language of scientific articles (reading practice and vocabulary) and oral presentations of scientific articles
- Writing practice through personal CVs and cover letters for applications to study/exchange programs or internships.
- Regular feedback on students' productions.
- Frequent pair and group work.
- Certain classes will be taught online via Teams.
Evaluation methods

- Continuous assessment of students' preparation work and of the quality of students' participation during classes.
- Assessment of an oral presentation given in small groups.
- Assessment of written exercises (CV and cover letter).
- Oral exam in two parts: group exam (meeting simulation) and individual exam (job interview simulation).
