Content
This course is divided in two parts:
(1) International trade
a. Basic models of international economics
b. Trade policy (objectives and instruments, international negotiation and WTO, pros and cons of worldwide trade liberalization, controversies in trade policies)

(2) International monetary and financial relations
a. International monetary regimes
b. The case of the eurozone
Some elements linked to international trade and development may also be presented, as well as some elements linked to  wordwilde globalization.
Evaluation methods
Written exam (80% of the grade) et peer-reviewed paper (20% of the grade)
As peer-reviewied papers require interactions among students, the grade got in June for this activity will be once and for all acquired for the ongoing academic year: no retake option will be organized for the peer-reviewed activity.

Prerequisite: MECON1211-macroeconomics
At the end of this course, student will be able to:
  • understand the theoretical models and concepts presented in this course
  • use them to explain concrete economic problems and current issues in international economics
