Although we do not yet know how long the social distancing related to the Covid-19 pandemic will last, and regardless of the changes that had to be made in the evaluation of the June 2020 session in relation to what is provided for in this learning unit description, new learnig unit evaluation methods may still be adopted by the teachers; details of these methods have been - or will be - communicated to the students by the teachers, as soon as possible.

Main themes
This seminar will deal with different kinds of methodologies and concepts in Dutch linguistics research. The students should take an active part during the lectures about recent researchs on Dutch linguistics or on the basis of reading of scientific literature.
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 At the end of the seminar, students should have developed insight into the research methods in different areas of Dutch (applied) linguistics. They should be able to formulate research hypotheses and to develop research methods / strategies to verify these hypotheses.

Content
The seminar deals with the topics of Dutch (applied) linguistics via lectures, reading of scientific articles, presentations, and discussions.
Evaluation methods
The evaluation will be based on students' active involvement in the seminar. It will also involve an oral presentation on a topic of their choice in relation to the themes of the seminar.
