Although we do not yet know how long the social distancing related to the Covid-19 pandemic will last, and regardless of the changes that had to be made in the evaluation of the June 2020 session in relation to what is provided for in this learning unit description, new learnig unit evaluation methods may still be adopted by the teachers; details of these methods have been - or will be - communicated to the students by the teachers, as soon as possible.

Content
This seminar deals with the economic analysis of international migration. It is divided into two main parts.
In the first part, the professor will give some lectures on the following topics:
1. international migration and international trade,
2. skilled emigration and economic development,
3. the optimal migration duration,
4. the political economy of immigration policies,
5. the welfare and labour-market effects of immigration.
The second part will be based on presentations by (groups of) students, who are expected to read and summarize the findings of some recent research papers on various aspects of international migration.
Teaching methods
Lectures + student presentations (or "classes inversées").
Evaluation methods
The evaluation will be based on group presentations and/or an oral exam.
Online resources
All documents will be readily made available to the students on Moodle or by sharing a Dropbox folder.

A reading list is provided at the beginning of the course.
