Although we do not yet know how long the social distancing related to the Covid-19 pandemic will last, and regardless of the changes that had to be made in the evaluation of the June 2020 session in relation to what is provided for in this learning unit description, new learnig unit evaluation methods may still be adopted by the teachers; details of these methods have been - or will be - communicated to the students by the teachers, as soon as possible.

Content
This course brings together two fields :
- engineering : networks, coding and digitalization process, data compression, confidentialité, certificate and security, new interfaces.
- communication sciences : models of analysis of the technical innovation and social appropriation of media.
Teaching methods
- Ex cathedra sessions and illustrations ;
- Collective debates about the student's own use of technology.
Evaluation methods
The evaluation consists in
- the writing of a paper (in group). Students present a case study about a technical object and its social use. Specific instructions can be found on moodle;
- a written exam (multiple choice).
