Prerequisites
At the beginning of the course, the student should have a B2 level in
  • reading,
  • writing,
  • listening
  • and speaking
Main themes
Class activities will be based on the mastery of the four academic language skills:
  1. reading,
  2. writing,
  3. listening
  4. and speaking,
with a focus on the productive skills (speaking and writing).
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1. to consolidate and develop the participants' speaking skills (taking part in tutorials, asking and answering questions, debating and presentation skills)
 
2. to provide practice in listening skills (distinguishing between the essential and the peripheral)
 
3. to master academic writing skills (the first steps towards writing an academic paper)
 
4. to master academic reading skills (skimming versus scanning, note taking)

Content
