Prerequisites
The student must have attained competency level C1 of the Common European Framework for Languages (C1 - effective operational proficiency): he or she can comprehend a large number of non-specialized or semi-specialized texts, grasp implicit meaning and aspects of pragmatics as well as extralinguistic and cultural elements. He or she must possess an in-depth knowledge of both French and Turkish grammar and the different levels and registers pertaining to the two languages.

Content
Translating general interest texts presenting different levels of language, different registers and covering a range of topics. Strengthening knowledge of contrastive linguistics. Strengthening knowledge of problems of both translation and maintaining the style and register of the source text. Development of Turkish-language drafting skills.

Reading texts and written preparation for translations at home. Group comparison

Evaluation methods
June Exam :
- continuous assessment based on written preparation of the translations at home, class attendance and active participation (30 % of final result).
- written exam (70% of final result).
September exam :
The continuous assessment mark will not be taken into account.
