Translation of texts of different types.
The workshop will start with an introduction to the general theory of certified translation (session 1), followed by 6 sessions each of which will be dedicated to specific text types. Every session will consist in the critical discussion and comment of the exercises and tasks (theoretical introduction, theoretical readings, exercises and practical translation work) prepared at home.
The student's presence is requested at all in-situ training sessions of the translation workshop.
The final evaluation of the translation workshop may be completed or replaced by an in-situ 4-hour translation exam to be completed in the working conditions of a professional translator's workstation during the official examination session. The student will be given one or more texts directly related to the special field of study of the semester. The exam will cover both the student's theoretical knowledge and practical translation competence in the field.
The second session (September session) overall evaluation consists of an in-situ 4-hour translation exam in the working conditions of a professional translator's workstation. The evaluation will be conducted according to the quality criteria and procedures required in the specific field of translation.
