Content
Students will identify and critically discuss an issue relevant to social, work or organizational psychology that is the subject of a societal debate. The course will be organized into several stages during which the students will be requested to:
Identify a social, occupational or organizational psychology issue that is being discussed in the news.
Document and critically discuss this issue in the light of relevant knowledge.
Become aware of the contribution but also the limits of a psychological perspective in the instruction of this debate.
As such, situate the problem in a multidisciplinary perspective, drawing in particular on the ethical, legal, economic and sociological perspectives addressed in other courses in the Baccalaureate programme.
Exercise their ability to communicate in a clear, precise and structured way the result of their analysis and their proposals for intervention.
This course will require students to mobilize knowledge from other core courses and conduct additional research. It will encourage them to learn about relevant societal debates with regard to their training and will encourage them to gradually develop expertise to position themselves in relation to such issues. The knowledge acquired in the methodology courses will also be used to encourage students to critically inform these debates.
Teaching methods
Documentary research. Preparation and presentation of a group work.
