Evaluation methods
Certificate evaluation. Exam in June: five main parts:
- pronunciation exam (10% of the final mark)
- conversation exam (10% of the final mark)
- writing/accuracy exam (vocabulary, accuracy and writing) (20% of the final mark)
- listening comprehension exam (20% of the final mark)
- reading comprehension exam (including the vocabulary covered in class; 20% of the final mark)
- active participation in the conversation classes and short presentations followed by debates during the academic year: 10% of the final mark.
- written assignments: five individual assignments and one group assignment will be set throughout the year (3 written assignments per term). One of these assignments will be selected, corrected thoroughly and marked each term: 10% of the final mark. Students who do not hand in their written assignments on time will be penalised: one mark per missing assignment will be deducted from the final grade for the course.
- written exam in January: optional exemption vocabulary test (exemption: 10/20)
