Main themes
The course is divided into two parts: one theoretical (1.5h) and one seminar (2h). The former will develop the physiopathology and pathology of the different nosological entities of haematopoietic tumours defined by the World Health Organization in 2008. Myeloid tumours (chronic myeloproliferative disorders, myelodysplastic syndromes and acute leukemias) and lymphoproliferative diseases (Hodgkin and Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas) will be illustrated by slides.
The practical seminar will integrate clinical and biological notions detailed during the year but also represents an unique opportunity to analyse microscopically some frequent entities.

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |

Cancerology: epidemiology of cancer and its causal factors - diagnosis and staging - therapeutic strategy - oncological emergencies – principles of immunotherapy, chemotherapy, hormonotherapy, and targeted therapies - principles of radiation therapy - how to deal with cancer pain - the top five cancers in men and women - elements of psychosocial oncology
Teaching methods
Multidisciplinary teaching based on clinical cases.
Evaluation methods
Written exam. The students have to answer open questions in a concise way.
