AA-FS-TA. Develop expertise and a high level of competence in the field of adapting audio-visual material into French, from two foreign languages, with a view to participating successfully in the professional multilingual audio-visual sector.

 

Specific learning outcomes on completion of teaching unit

On completing this unit the student is able to:

·         Manage the translation process strictly respecting deadlines, client instructions, and the specific international quality standards that apply to a particular medium

·         Work interactively with other team members

Supply a finished product.

Content
In this course students will have to manage/organize a subtitle project from German into French within a given/specified timeframe in the computer lab, from the order to the delivery of the final product, i.e. a subtitled document. They will use the program EZTitles©. The students will rely on the competences they acquired in the course and respect the norms described in the style guide and the quality norms specific to subtitles. They will work individually and with other group/team members.

September: subtitling assessment to handed out by the beginning of august + oral exam
