Main themes
The teaching unit addresses the criticisms of Christian ethics and reflects on the foundations of an ethical approach of Christian inspiration and its links to other branches of theology and the human sciences. It develops, according to the other ethics courses of the program, fundamental themes such as autonomy, conscience/consciousness, natural law, relation to Scripture and tradition. It deals fundamentally with the main characteristics of an ethic of Christian inspiration.
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Priorities:

A.4. To lay the foundations of an ethical discernment;

B.1. To know the notions proper to theology and its epistemology;

D.2. To provide critical advice on public debates related to Christianity (media, culture, education, etc.).

Secondary Aims:

A.2. To understand and explain the Christian theological tradition in its major theoretical currents by contextualising them;

B.2. To understand and explain the thought of a theologian;

C.2. To master the documentary bases to develop research in theology.

Content
What is social justice?
The course gives an introduction to the ethical aspects of the construction and weakening of social cohesion and is interested in the role of religions in the debates on norms and values in different networks of interactions: at the informal level, in institutions, in the media, etc. The course will allow a better understanding of the transformations of the concept of "social justice".
