Content
The elements of the code (grammar and vocabulary) are built-in in significant contexts, grouped according to functional contents (to give and ask personal data, to speak about the usual actions, to speak about the spare time and tastes, to describe a city, to suggest activities, etc), and later they are practiced through written exercises (following the structural method), as well as through oral exercises requiring the development of an integral communicative competence (drills, role-plays, interviews, conversation in little groups).
The didactic materials are very heterogeneous: songs, plays, advertisements, real or adapted texts created with a teaching goal, etc.
Teaching methods
The course is centered on communication and uses a method halfway between the communicative and the notion-functional one. An A1-A2 level book is used.
Evaluation methods
Various marks make up the final assessment:
  • Continuous Assessment (written and oral work, attendance and active participation in the class): 10%
  • 3 written tests throughout the year: 45%
  • a written exam (25%) and an oral exam (20%) at the end of the 2nd semester
  • september: written exam (65%) and an oral exam (35%)
