Main themes
This seminar deals with questions of Indian philology (Sanskrit and Dravidian) bearing on palaeography, epigraphy, critical edition, history of texts or the study of native commentaries.
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Content
This interuniversity FNRS seminar provides a useful complement to the course: Languages of  India II, dealing with questions of  palaeography, epigraphy, critical edition, history of texts or the study of native commentaries. Among the specialised recurrent themes,  the  questions concerning southern Indian epigraphy and the study of Malayalam writing are worthy of note.
Teaching methods
Intensive seminar based on primary material (manuscripts, inscriptions) and presented by one or more invited experts.
Evaluation methods
The final mark takes account of:
- an evaluation of the active participation of the student at the seminar;
- a work involving the application of the new methods.

The co-ordinator will fix the timetable after consultation with the students.
