Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
  • List the main components of an information system (eg ERP and its tools), describe their functioning and the interactions between them
  • Analyze the functioning of an information system, discuss its strengths and weaknesses and make suggestions for improvement
  • Explain the life cycle of an IT project and identify the actions to be taken as project manager during the different phases of the project
  • Explain the managerial, human and economic issues associated with an IT project and exploit this knowledge to improve his practice as a project manager
The students will have developed methodological and operational skills. In particular, they will have developed their
  • Explain the role of organizational information systems in companies by using examples and, more precisely, present in an argumentative way the role of information systems as tools to support the strategy of a company
  • Take account of the non-technical dimensions (ethical, legal, fiscal, etc.) in the projects of setting up or adapting an information system
  • Mastering methods and tools that help a project leader to carry out the project
