Content
The students will take a broad look at Italian literature from the Middle Ages until the 18th century.
The students will become familiar with the linguistic features of Medieval and Renaissance Italian in the practical sessions and will be able to discuss the elements relevant to the course (both the theoretical and practical sides) in an oral presentation.
Using the tools available from the library and online, the students will undertake independent research into the key biographical and bibliographical information concerning the authors discussed on the course.
Teaching methods
The course is in the form of lectures: this is a deliberate choice to give students experience of a form of teaching they will encounter in Italy on an Erasmus exchange.
The practical sessions deal with the preparation of a choice of texts from a linguistic point of view. These texts will be covered in class and will require students to make active use of analytical procedures introduced in LROM1753.
Evaluation methods
The student will be evaluated as follows:

January Session - Partial exam

'    Written exam during the examination session (Exercice sessions)  (1/3)

June Session
