This course in methodology deals with the entire process of quantification in criminology : data identification, categorization, management, extraction, calculation and interpretation. 
This subject matter is directly linked to the mastery of computing tools allowing its application : relational databases and spreadsheets. 
Each stage is approached in taking elements of informational critique and the data's epistemological value into account.
Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Based on a corpus of documents and a research problem, students having taken this course will be able to create a database allowing them to exploit these documents, produce relevant figures with regard to the problem based on their database, as well as representing and exploiting them in an optimal way.
