Main themes
All theatre projects - professional and amateur alike - inevitably rely on some organisational infrastructure. This course involves analysing the context into which the general organisation of our theatre fits, in the awareness that it depends to a large extent on financial support from the government. The theatre's place in the overall finances of Belgium's French-Speaking Community, intervention criteria and choices regarding theatre policy are recurrent themes. We shall also take an inside look at the theatre company to analyse the best ways for it to deploy its resources and obtain the necessary funding, either from grants or from its own revenue, depending on its chosen objective; systematic study of possible approaches and a knowledge of the social, tax, economic and cultural rules should enable anyone given a position of responsibility in the theatre to make decisions with greater clarity.
