Content
The course alternates the explanations on the great stages of the Spanish history of the 19th and the 20th century, with large plans on the most significant cultural currents, presented starting from an outstanding work.
1. The century of political instability (1808-1875). Goya and the "Guerra de Independancia".
2. The Restoration (1875-1923). Sorolla, Zuloaga and the turn of the century.
3. From the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera to the civil war (1923-1939). The house of the 4. Spanish Republic at the World Fair of Paris.
4. The franquist period (1939-1975). Official art: El Valle de los Caídos. Carlos Saura's paintings.
5. From the final of the Franco's regime till our days (1975-2000). The Movida.

The course alternates between lecture sessions about the political and cultural history of the period dealt with analyzes of written and iconographic documents.
