In-depth study of the Akkadian language.
Alternating with LGLOR2614, this course of 22,5 hours deals with texts of varied content (historic, religious, etc.) in Akkadian dating essentially from the second and first millennium BC.
To this course are added 7,5 hours of exercises which correspond to the personal preparation of an Akkadian text.

Aims
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |

Content
The course enables the student to deepen and widen his knowledge and experiences acquired at bachelor level. According to the year, the texts studied, for example, are:
- extracts of Akkadian epics or myths (Gilgamesh, Enuma elish);
- the royal neo-Assyrian inscriptions;
- Akkadian inscriptions from Elam;
- other literary texts.

Teaching methods
The selected texts are prepared by the students and the translations are discussed during the course, in order to reach a valid translation and a good understanding of the text.
Evaluation methods
Written exam (translation and analysis of a text in cuneiform).
