  • explain in a clear and coherent way the viewpoints on man and the world that he will have encountered in the lessons.

Content
Lecture:
1. Pre-philosophic Wisdom in the ancient Near East
2. Wisdom and the Bible
3. Greek Philosophy
4. Roman philosophy
5. Philosophical traditions within the Hindu world
6. Confucianism and Daoïsm in China
7. Buddhist wisdom in India and Chine
8. G. Lemaître and the science and faith debate
The practical side of the course shall rely upon the reading of a book and a personal work according to the information that shall be given during the information period.
Teaching methods
Lecture (8 lessons) and personal work (1 period for the general information, another one for Q&As; what is left from the 15h devoted to the practical side of the course shall be devoted to personal work.)
Evaluation methods
Written exam on the lectures (12 points.)
The practical side shall rely on a personal essay (8 points.)
