Aims

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

At the end of the course the successful student will be able to understand how science works, to conduct research into databases that cover movement sciences topics (ex : Pubmed, Scopus), to find and assess scientific literature and to apply this knowledge to the preparation of a thesis in physical education field.

Content
1) The scientific method: theoretical concepts are taught and illustrated through presentations made by professors and assistants working in various fields of movement sciences research.

2) Assessing the scientific literature online: theoretical concepts and computer exercises on the Pubmed database. This module is taught with the collaboration of the librarian.

3) Critical review of the literature and scientific writing: what distinguishes scientific literature from non-scientific literature? How are bibliographic references presented?
