Content
The contents are closely related to those of LCLIB2125 also biannual to avoid duplication and to offer a full range of issues in library management and bibliometrics.
The 10 themes of the course LCLIB2120 2016-2017 (on UCL Moodle) are the following:
' Library management : introduction to the 4 pillars of management
' Infrastructures, organisation and people management
' Users management : typology, assessment, multimedia interactions
' Collections and services management, physical and digital library
' Salvage plan and protection of collection against biological and other risks
' Documentary research and Open Access at the age of Web 2.0
' Research librarians and mediation of media and content
' Analytic and strategic management tools, bibliometrics and norms
' Presentation of the audits (I) : workshop on building goals
' Presentation of the audits (II) : workshop on innovations

Teaching methods
The 15 hours of learning are constituted of thematic presentations with theoretical notions and practical case studies. Preparations and seeking of information will be requested in order to increase the interactivity of the course.
Visits and professional meetings, personal works, invitation to conferences and other activities are also in the program.

Evaluation methods
The course consists of 10 sessions of 1h30, each one with its own theme (see contents). In addition to the theoretical concepts, a large place will be reserved for practical case management in physical and digital libraries. In order to facilitate interactive learning, some courses will be prepared in advance by the students (documentary research). Each student will also perform a personal audit of the management of a documentation center that will be presented to the others during two workshops (construction of goals, innovation) at the end of the year.

Les ressources bibliographiques sont surtout électroniques et accessibles via le catalogue et le discovery tool des bibliothèques de l'UCL et/ou les plateformes professionnelles.
