ARKE 1451 "Art et archéologie de l'Egypte pharaonique et de l'Orient ancien".
Main themes
The course views detailed questions, which change every year. The emphasis is often put on : a) the study of human figure, one of the objectives of art history - as in literature - is to enable humans to find their fellow creatures, b) the improvement of chronology, as indispensable basis for every investigation. Problems of architecture may also be taken into account.

Content
In 2017-2018, the course concerns: Art and Archaeology from the Third Intermediate Period to the Ptolemaic Dynasty.

Evaluation : oral examination in front of pictures, at the end of the session (20 points).
Other information
In order to form to scientific practice, students are invited to work in library and to find in mentioned bibliography pictures seen at lessons, as eventually other comments.
