Face-to-face, in PC room
This course is aimed at simulating real conditions for the implementation of translation projects. Students will be asked to manage in a professional manner the various steps of a Turkish > French translation project, from order up to delivery (organization, documentary and terminological research, translation, review). This will include translating one or several texts within a given deadline in face-to-face conditions, using CAT tools where necessary.
Translation from Turkish into French of several chapters of novels or short stories representative of the works of contemporary Turkish writers. Various literary genres will be studied (social realism, historic, crime, etc.).
The outcome (the translation) may then be submitted to the authors of the original report. An estimate and a contract as well as a glossary of specific terms will be drawn up during the seminar so as to stick to the reality professional translators are faced with.
