To reach the aims, the course: - will focus on a specific issue in bioethics - will explore human, social and political issues - will present an ethical appraisal in a philosophical and theological point of view
Aims
By the end of the course, the student will be able - to clarify fundamental categories of ethical reflection about questions asked by the development of sciences and biomedical techniques - to relate contributions of Christian traditions to current debates about these topics.

Content

2016-2017

Belgium knows a legislation relative to the euthanasia, for the adults since 2002, for the minors since 2014. The course of the cursus will try hard to understand the stakes, as long for the patients, the nursing that for the society in general. While the demand to die into dignity "multiplies in the European countries, as to understand these requests, to accompany them? A normative ethics, independent from situations, is it enough for thinking of this type of question? How to think humanely and in the faith about this complex problem?
