"The Decalogue illustrated by Old Testament stories'
The 'Ten Words' are, in the biblical narrative, the first 'code' of laws given by YHWH to Israel. As noted by the rabbis, the patriarchs were not subject to the Torah. But in the long history that precedes the giving of the Torah at Sinai, are narrated some events that prepare the reader to hear the Law and to penetrate its meaning. The lectures will be devoted to read some of these narratives and to see how they allow to better understand the scope of the 'Ten Words'. The introduction will offer a basic reading of the Decalogue itself.
The method will be narrative analysis in articulation with theological and anthropological hermeneutics.
