According to the specific projects studied in class, the course puts emphasis on : - the analysis of a situation that raises problems or where it is felt that socio-economic needs are not (well) statisfied : diagnostic of the situation, definition of priorities for policy, ex ante evaluation of the effects of these policies, definitions of relevant objectives that can be measured ; - implementation of the project and ongoing evaluation; - ex post evaluation of the effects of the policies ; - cost-benefit analysis.
This course develops and applies tools that are useful to design, to implement ant to evaluate social and economic projects. Students have to master the tools in order to be able to apply them.
