None. This course is obligatory for students in musicology.
The theme can relate to a period from the dark ages up to contemporary times. It can also look into places (a city, a region, a nation), authors (compositors, librettists) or forms (fugue, sonate, blues). In every case, music texts are the starting point of the course, but they are put into their cultural, social, religious,' context.
To acquire an in-depth knowledge of a relevant subject in the matter of music history.

Oral examination at the end of the session
The lectures will be given ex-cathedra by the professor. Those are agremented with musical exemples, pictures and videos. Students prepare the sceances through the reading of an article or a chapter coming from a reference monography
