Introduction to the basic principles of ethics and legal organization of speech and therapy practice, professional responsibility, administrative formalities required to practice professionally as a speech and language therapist.

Content
Introduction to the basic principles of ethics and legal organization of speech and therapy practice, professional responsibility, administrative formalities required to practice professionally as a speech and language therapist. The course has two parts : Part 1 - medical practice and the legal organization of medical and paramedical professions - legal responsibilities of the speech and language therapist and risk insurance coverage - legal and disciplinary issues - ethical and legal questions raised by professional practice Part 2 : organization of the profession in Belgium and Europe Lectures and contact with practising speech and language therapists

Mrs RAVIER Prerequisites : a document outlining the legal prerequisites is distributed at the beginning of the course, available on iCampus and briefly outlined at the first lecture. Assessment : written examination with a question prepared by the student etc. Support : transparencies during the lectures, legal texts, codes of ethics - documents available on iCampus.
