Main themes

Study of the development of some specific sciences (Astronomy, Arithmetic, Geometry, Geography etc) in various Medieval civilisations (Western, Byzantine and Islamic world) until 1453.

Aims

At the end of this course of lectures, the student must know how Sciences, in the Modern sense of this word, was transmitted through the Middle Age in Western, Byzantine and Islamic civilisations.
