Content

The course sets out a synthesis of the legal regime of the internal market. The following items are thus covered: free movement of goods, services, persons (worker & citizen) and capital. The main rules governing the law on competition  are also covered. The main emphasis is on analysing primary legislation. The course aims to give students a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms governing the European Union's substantive law. In this respect it favours a synthetic approach, while illustrating the concepts through the case-law of the ECJ. The course is taught in the form of lectures. Students have a textbook and a case-law compendium at their disposal.

Other information

Support: a textbook containing main case law and secondary law, and the text of the Treaty on the functioning of the European Union.
