Main themes
The theme varies annually, from purely demographic issues to broader social sciences or health issues. Among recent themes we can mention " Reproductive health in the North and in the South. From knowledge to action " (2004), " The history of Belgium's population and its territories " (2005). The conference is organized by different teams, gathering professors and researchers of the Institute of demog-raphy, of other faculty members of the UCLouvain, other Belgian or foreign universities, working in the related research field.
Aims
Participation to an international seminar organized by the Institute of Demography on a new topic every year, in order to " Acquire an in depth vision of the progress achieved in knowledge and methods in a specific research field " Be able to write a paper on or make an oral synthesis of a selection of contributions " Meet international specialists in the related fields.
